Message: When we moved to Stuttgart many years ago.. Mr. Thomas was one of the things that immediately made me feel like I was meant to be here. He reminded me greatly of my first barber back home in Louisiana, Mr. Vice. I will always be grateful for his gentle teasing each time I visited.. and I am especially grateful I asked about his time in the service on the D-Day anniversary. He took the time to tell me about friends he lost back then and still mourned.. Stuttgart has lost a community pillar. Rest in peace, Mr. Thomas. Thank you for all the stories and way-too-short haircuts. You were right, though, it always grew back.

Message: The Carter family will greatly miss Mr. Thomas. He was one of a kind, we loved his smile and his since of humor..He also teased Joe about giving him a flat top or cutting his hair like his..Mr Lester always took extra time with Joe. Joe was born with brain damage. He seemed to know exactly what to say to Joe. He would tell us interesting stories about him cutting hair in the service and the good old days. He told us how much Stuttgart had changed in the years he worked at his little shop. Stuttgart has lost a truly wonderful man and Heaven has been Blessed ..So until we met again, enjoy the streets of gold and heavens beauty. Our prayers are with his wife and family.

Message: With great sympathy, we mourn the loss of Uncle Lester. We remember hearing his stories about growing up in Texas and Arkansas, especially, the stories about his early life in Humnoke and Humphrey. We remember the times we played pitch with Uncle Lester. He was a remarkably good pitch player. I remember the times he cut my hair on our trips to visit my wife’s mother. He always inquired how much a hair cut cost in California. We will miss visiting and playing cards with him. He was a true member of the “great generation”.
