Mary Frances Blackwood Bowen passed away on July 26, 2019, at the age of 90.
Mary was born May 2, 1929, to A.J. and Ivy Blackwood in Corinth, Mississippi. She was a resident of Crestpark in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the time of her passing. Prior to that, she spent many happy years in Lake Village, Arkansas, where she was known as “Ms. Bo-Bo” to the many children she loved and cared for at her home daycare. She retired and relocated to Humphrey, Arkansas, to be near family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Blackwood, Dub Blackwood and Charles Blackwood.
Survivors include her three daughters, Cathy Bowen Burns (Randy) of Burleson, Texas, Anita Bowen of Humphrey, Arkansas, and Carla Bowen Myers (Felix) of Santa Fe, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Leah Reynolds (Beau and Jessi) of Santa Fe, Texas; Ben Reynolds and wife Sarah (Autumn, Marah and Raven) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Katie Greenberg and husband Topher (Jaycee) of Venus, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Clara Dobson of Stuttgart, Arkansas as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her nephew, Rick Blackwood of Atlanta, Texas, will officiate at her service to be held at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart, Arkansas, 11 a.m. Tuesday with visitation one hour before. Burial will follow at Frazier Cemetery in Humphrey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Stuttgart Public Library, 2002 S. Buerkle Street, Stuttgart, Arkansas 72160.
