Brenda Ann Riley, 70, of Stuttgart passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at Trinity Village in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Riley was born March 8, 1949, in Marianna, Ark., to Oscar and Mary Sherman Guthrey. She was a retired licensed practical nurse at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital and member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. She practiced as a nurse for a total of 42 years in both Brinkley and Stuttgart. She loved being a nurse and caring for others. Many of her former patients nicknamed her “Sarge” for her thorough patient care and strict nursing practice.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William “Bo” Riley; and brothers, Franklin, Roy, Glenn and Ronnie Joe Guthrey.
Survivors are her husband, Wallace Hal Riley; her daughter, Elizabeth Riley of Little Rock; brothers, Troy (Joyce) Guthrey of Pine Bluff and Tony (Duana) Guthrey of North Little Rock; and sisters, Sandra Guthrey of North Little Rock, Sheila Brittain of Brinkley and Linda Kay (Steve) Hulse and Jeannette Guthrey of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. David Inzer, are 10 a.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home with burial following in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home.
