Margie Vail, 85, of Stuttgart, widow of Albert Eugene “Gene” Vail, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 4, 2020, at her home.
Mrs. Vail was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Hazen to Roy and Florence Holmes Dawson. She and her husband were owners/operators of Stuttgart Home Center for many years and she was a charter member of Park Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Dawson, Raymond Dawson and Nathan Dawson; and sisters, Modean Kee, Marcelle Raper and Joyce Floyd.
Survivors are her son Doug Vail and wife Carol of Paragould; her daughter, Marcia Freemyer and husband Charles of Stuttgart; grandchildren, Chuck (Mona) Freemyer, Gina (Tuan) Knight, Eric (Lasha) Freemyer, Katherine (Patrick) Kelly and Caroline Vail; six great-grandchildren, Trevor (Brooke) Freemyer, Dawson Freemyer, Josie Knight, Ronin Knight, Piper Kelly and Sydney Segars; sisters-in-law, Sue Dawson of Lonoke, Lucille Vail of Hazen and Helen Vail of Humphrey; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the graveside service will be limited to immediate family members only in the interest of public safety under the direction of Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart. The service may be viewed live on Park Avenue Baptist Church’s Facebook page. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
