Willie Gene McCune, 74, of Humphrey passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at Baptist Health-Little Rock.
Mr. McCune was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Humphrey to Ira Winfred and Thelma McCune. He was a self-employed, over-the-road truck driver and a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed cooking and being at the lake, but his favorite pastime was telling old trucking stories and watching family and friends have a good time.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother; and a brother-in-law, Paul Wood.
Survivors are two daughters, Becky Burgess (Dusty) of Stuttgart and Bonnie Kidwell (Zeek) of Augusta, W.V.; step-son, Tony Montgomery (Heather) of Cabot; brothers, Carroll McCune (Beverly) of Humphrey and Carl David McCune (Barbara) of Greer’s Ferry; sisters, Betty Wood of Eudora, Mae Caples (Robert) of Humphrey and Nancy Wood (Jim) of Stuttgart; six grandchildren, Dennis Atkins, Justin Atkins, Scott Boston, Wade Burgess (Kelsey), Lauren Bouscher (Logan) and Hayden Montgomery; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Avery, Tanner, Millie and Hollann; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, officiated by Tony Reynolds, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Flynn Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
