Mae Dean Caples


Mae Dean Caples, 68, of Humphrey passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Caples was born July 10, 1952, in Stuttgart to Ira Winfred and Thelma McCune. She was a graduate of Altheimer High School and a retired home health worker. She loved her church, Rowe’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Humnoke, her family and working puzzle books.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gene McCune, Carroll McCune and George Edward McCune; father- and mother-in-law, Herbert and Mary Gertrude Caples; and brother-in-law, Paul Wood.

Survivors are her husband of 50 years, Robert Caples; daughters, Janise Wilson and husband Tommy and April Heinzelman of Stuttgart and Ann Sherman and husband Kie of Humphrey; brother, Carl David McCune and wife Barbara of Greer’s Ferry; sisters, Betty Wood of Eudora and Nancy Wood and husband Jim of Stuttgart; sisters-in-law, Betty Hopkins of Moberly, Mo., and Mary Rayburn of Stuttgart; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her fur baby, Rascal.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Pat Fulmer, at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rowe’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in Flynn Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home.
