John Paul Carper, 62, of White Hall, formerly of Stuttgart, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff from complications of Covid.
John Paul was born March 6, 1959, in Stuttgart to Billy “Stick” and Annette Halley Carper. He was a 1977 graduate of Stuttgart High School and worked at GTE for many years. John suffered from many medical issues over the last few years, but it didn’t stop him from trying to help his neighbors and friends with chores they needed done. He had one of the biggest hearts of anyone. In his younger years after a long workday or on the weekends John would more than likely be found relaxing on the river in a boat with friends, but usually on a slalom ski.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Maude Halley and John and Anna Bell Carper.
Survivors are his sister, Theresa Ricks and husband Gary of Edmond, Okla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery chapel in Stuttgart.
Cremation services were offered through Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
