Billy Leo Wright, 90, of Stuttgart, passed away Saturday at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.
Billy was born May 12, 1928 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Spicy Bowman Wright and William Joseph Wright. He retired from GM Buick in Flint, Michigan after 30 years on December 31, 1976. He moved to Flint, Michigan in May 1946 and then to Stuttgart, Arkansas in March 1992. Billy was a Baptist and accepted Christ as his Savior as a young adult. He held many positions in the church throughout the years and was saved one year after his daughter Carolyn was born.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Martha Eaker Wright and eleven brothers and sisters, he was the youngest.
Survivors are his wife of 25 years, Lura Wright; two sons, Roger (Kim) Wright and David (Sue) Wright both of Hot Springs Village; two daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Harsh of Russiaville, Indiana and Joyce (Bob) Curtis of Flint, Michigan; stepsons, Gary, Mike, and Clayton Fisher; stepdaughters, Penni Rowland and Gayla Tarkington; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Stuttgart with visitation one hour before. There will be a burial Tuesday at Linwood Cemetery Paragould. Please go to www.turpin-co.com to sign the online guestbook.
