Norma Deene Bishop Williams, 81, of Stuttgart passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018.
Mrs. Williams was born May 20, 1937, in Caddo County, Okla., to John T. and Ora Lee Foster Bishop. She earned a BS degree from the University of Arkansas and a MS degree in Elementary Education at LSA with an emphasis on reading. She began teaching in Stuttgart in 1977 at Lincoln Elementary and retired from Clary Elementary School in 2000. She had a special love for children and music.
Her hobbies included playing the piano, creative sewing, cross-stitching and reading. She taught Sunday school for many years and had a deep love for her church. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. She loved God and her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Survivors are her husband of 20 days shy of 59 years, Curtis Williams; son, Charles Derrick (Rhonda) Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; daughters, Criseda Yaw (Brian) of LaCenter, Wash., and Penny Lynn (Brian) Schroeder of Stuttgart; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Sam Roberts, are 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday.
Her family requests memorials be made to Operation Christmas Child.
