Rona Jean Persons, 70, of Stuttgart died Monday, January 10,
2011, at Baptist Health-Little Rock.
Mrs. Persons was born January 30, 1940, in Little Rock to Ben
and Iness Coffelt Carpenter. Besides a homemaker, she was a good
wife, mother, grandmother and friend. A member of First Assembly
of God Church, she served as Sunday school secretary for 45
years. She was also superintendent and principal of Grand
Prairie Christian Academy for 25 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary
Lowe; and brother, DeWayne Carpenter.
Survivors are her husband of ญญญ54 years, Billy Joe Persons;
three sons, Joey Persons Jr. of the home and Rodney Persons and
wife Scottie of Stuttgart and Greg Persons and wife Beth of
Neosho, Missouri; three brothers, Don Carpenter of Benton, R.L.
Carpenter of Stuttgart and Buford Carpenter of Lonoke; and six
grandchildren, Mallory and Morgan Persons of Stuttgart, Daniel
Persons and wife Joan of Ft. Drum, New York, and Joanna, Joseph
and Caleb Persons of Neosho.
