Nora Lillian Van Cleave Drye, 90, passed away Wednesday,
November 2, 2016, at her home in Cleveland County, Arkansas.
Mrs. Drye was born April 25, 1926 at home on the east bank of
Bayou Meto, across from Wrape Plantation. She was a seamstress
at Rison Garment Factory for 27 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Jimmie Leverne Drye Sr.; daughters, Martha Drye Tregler and Nora
Lillian Drye Glover; son, Jimmie L. Drye Jr.; sisters, Pearl Van
Cleave, Bertha Inez Anderson (Otho Edward), Lema Beedle (Claude)
and Vivian Baggett (Toby); and brother, Walter M. Van Cleave
Survivors are daughter, Katherine D. Bowers (Jim) of
Russellville; sons, Arthur Thomas Drye (Barbara), Luther M. Drye
(Virginia), Garland Shane Drye (Cyndi) and Joseph Dwayne Drye
(Darla), all of Cleveland County; brother-in-law, Claude Beedle;
12 grandchildren, April Brandon, Ann Ross, Dean Massey, Jonathan
Massey, Steve Drye, Thomas Drye, Scott Bowers, Becky Bowers,
LeAnn Bowers, Chris Drye, Elizabeth Aymond and Sarah Drye; and
several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews, all of which Nora loved and knew the
birthday and details of each of their births.
Funeral services, officiated by her grandsons Steve Drye
and Chris Drye, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home
chapel with burial following in Bayou Meto Cemetery.
