Donnie Joe Swan, 79, of Aberdeen passed away Friday, March 3,
2017, at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Little Rock.
Donnie was born April 10, 1937, in Humphrey to Golda and Mildred
Swan. He lived most of his early years in the Humphrey-Stuttgart
area. His early years were spent farming and later in life he
worked as a skilled carpenter. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed
hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his
family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother,
Walter Swan and two sisters, Marie Roe and Elaine Parnell.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia “Bonnie”
Swan; two brothers, Jerry and Ricky Swan; three sisters, Tokey
Houser, Marcelene Bryant and Linda Norton; five children, Terry
(Traci) Swan of Stuttgart, Sindy (Bill) Cruthis of Sheridan,
Garry (Debbie) Swan of Richmond, Ky., Jennie Blasengame of
Stuttgart and Ray Swan of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren; and
Funeral services are 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home
with burial following in Flynn Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service at Turpin Funeral
The family will be at 802 S. Vine in Stuttgart.
