  Fanelle Newkirk McGee


Fanelle Newkirk McGeeFanelle Newkirk McGee, 79, of Stuttgart, widow of Clotus McGee Jr., passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Crestpark of Stuttgart. She was born March 4, 1938, to Alvin and Carmel Porter Newkirk.

Fanelle worked hard all her life from picking cotton to helping her mom around their home. When she married, she began working various jobs, but her favorites were working for W.C. Bogard at Bogard Grain and Seed Co. and Producers Rice Mill where she gained many friends and co-workers.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served as organist until her health prevented her from attending.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clotus McGee III (Chip).

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Fran Campbell and husband Homer of Almyra; her son, Curtis McGee of Ulm; grandchildren, April Herring and husband Dennis and Clotus McGee IV; great-granddaughter, Tessa Herring who she always called Tess; her sister, Linda Edwards of Stuttgart; her brother, John Newkirk and wife Debbie of Stuttgart; and many other relatives and countless friends.

Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home with burial following at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ulm.

Visitation will be at one hour prior to her service.
