William Travis Davis, 85, of Oxford, Miss., formerly of
Stuttgart passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Baptist
Mr. Davis was born December 5, 1932, in Fordyce, Ark., to George
Gray and Ila McCann Davis. An accountant, he retired from the
human resources department at Riceland after more than 20 years.
He was a long-standing member and deacon at First Baptist Church
and he was also a member of the board of directors of Noah’s Ark
Day-care. He and his wife were longtime volunteers with Baptist
Disaster Relief. Travis enjoyed camping and hunting.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister;
four brothers; and a grandson, Aaron Thomas.
Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Joyce Adcock Davis; three
daughters, Deborah Davis Shivers and husband Richard of Oxford,
Charlotte Davis of Little Rock and Paula Davis Smith and husband
Samuel of Houston; six grandchildren; and five
Funeral services, officiated by Dr. Sam Roberts, are 1:00 p.m.
Saturday at First Baptist Church with burial following in Lone
Tree Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation will be from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. at First Baptist
His family requests memorials to Alzheimer’s Foundation of
America or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
