Turner Henderson, 84, of Stuttgart went peacefully to her
heavenly father on December 29, 2017. She was born April 13,
1933, in Ethel, Ark., to Charlie and Pauline Turner.
Marietta was lovingly adopted by her grandparents, Julia and Jim
Ledbetter at the age of 3 upon the death of her parents. After
graduating from St. Charles High School in May 1950 she married
the love of her life, Louis Henderson on June 24, 1950. From
this union were the pride and joy of her life, daughters Jeanie,
Deanna and Luann.
Marietta and Louis had 54 wonderful years. Together they owned
and operated Louis Henderson Trucking. Upon retirement they
enjoyed their love of fishing. Their home was a place for family
and friends to gather and feel loved beyond measure.
Marietta was a longtime member of Park Avenue Baptist Church
where she loved working with children, the Ladies Auxiliary and
Besides her husband Louis, she was preceded in death by a
sister, Genalee Bumpers; granddaughter, Julie Wessels; and
son-in-law, Dellos Clemons.
Marietta is survived by daughters, Jeanie Gwathney (Dale),
Deanna Clemons, and Luann Henderson; grandchildren, Kristie
Edwards (John), Colton and Jason Gwathney, Brandon Clemons
(Karissa), Carrie Murphy (Kevin), Heather Collins (Hunter) and
Harrison Hartley; and great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Madison,
Anna, Aidan and Hailey.
Visitation is 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home with
funeral services, officiated by Bro. Heath Loftis, following at
3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery.
