Thomas Berg, 88, of Stuttgart went home to be with the Lord on
Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart.
Mr. Berg was born May 18, 1929, in Arkansas County. He
was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Stuttgart
where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a farmer and
farmed all his life loving every minute of it. He always said
“choose a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your
life”. He enjoyed spending time with his family and also loved
playing dominos and card games with his friends and
He always had a smile on his face and everyone who was lucky
enough to meet him loved him. He loved the Lord with all his
heart and witnessed to anyone who would listen. He was truly an
example of God’s love and kindness.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, D. Imagene
Berg; his sons, F. Danny Berg and Dickie Todd Berg;
great-granddaughter, Eliza Jade Washam; parents, Dave and Bessie
Berg; sisters, Evalena Shumate and Anna Salley; and brothers,
W.A. Berg, Jackie Berg and Willis Berg.
Survivors are daughters, Debbie J. Berg of Stuttgart and Dana
Washam and husband Richard of Russellville; nine grandchildren,
Duane Graves of Knoxville, Tenn., Deana (Jason) Oxner and Danise
(Josh) Rowland, all of Stuttgart, Terri (Chad) Holsted and Becca
(Josh) Lemley, all of Russellville, Tami (Thomas) LaBakis of
Vilonia, and Chase (Kota) Washam, Chelsie Washam and Chasity
Washam, all of Russellville; 16 great-grandchildren; one
great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dora Inman of Stuttgart
and Kathy Stiers of Pine Bluff. His family also wants to mention
his loving friends who are considered family, Holly Persons
Berg, Ed and Wanda Rutherford, Nancy and Louis Williams, Rick
and Cindy Hefley and too many more to mention. To know Floyd was
to love him.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Joe Pose and Bro. Don
Ashcraft, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Trinity Assembly of God Church
with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation is 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home
