Steve Uhiren, 80, of Stuttgart passed away Thursday, March 29,
2018, at his home.
Mr. Uhiren was born April 15, 1937, in Carlisle to Paul
and Connie Simmons Uhiren. He began employment in the welding
and oxygen supply business with Henry Peacock for many years
before retiring from National Welding Co. He was a member of
Southside Baptist Church. He loved horses, gardening and sharing
his bounty with friends and piddling in his shop.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a
sister, Barbara Ausbrooks.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Nancy Keys Uhiren;
two people who were very special to him, Ronnie Jones of DeValls
Bluff and Sharon Hunt of Lonoke; three brothers, Paul Uhiren Jr.
and Mike Uhiren of Houston, Miss., and Bill Uhiren of Carlisle;
six sisters, Sandra Poynter of Lexington, Ky., Mary Curci of
Apple Valley, Calif., Sharon Murphy of Sheridan, Rosalie
Boudreau of Riverside, Calif., Regina Staton of Lonoke and Pam
Toland of Hazen; and his “adopted” granddaughters, Kelbi
Voumard, Kaylan Lackey, Rhylee Wiggins and Addie Smith.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Gregg Greenway, are
2:00 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with visitation
one hour before the service. Burial will be in Lone Tree
requests memorials be made to Southside Baptist Church, P.O. Box
424, Stuttgart, Ark. 72160.
