Agnes Teresa Ryan Wilson, 99, of Stuttgart, widow of John F. Wilson, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at Atkins Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Arkansas County near Stuttgart to Dennis James and Ann Raddle Ryan.
She was a graduate of Holy Rosary Catholic School and Stuttgart High School and completed a communications course at PCCUA. Beginning in 1942 she was a telephone and telegraph operator and supervisor for Southwestern State Telephone Company. In 1953 she began employment with Arkansas Rice Growers (now Riceland) as a receptionist and telephone operator where she worked until her retirement in 1986.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald W. Wilson; brothers, Raymond Ryan and wife Ellen and Joe Ryan and wife Ione; and sister, Margaret Ryan LeBlanc Ibele.
She is survived by two grandsons, Greg Wilson and Chad Wilson, both of Dover; great-grandson, Garret Wilson, and great-granddaughters, Zadie and Mazie Wilson, all of Dover; nephews, Dennis Ryan (Pam), Mike Ryan (Joani) and Tom Ryan (Melody), all of Nebraska, Paul LeBlanc (Margie) of Texas and Jim LeBlanc (JoAnn) of Washington; niece, Kathy Ryan Jones of Louisiana; and many cousins and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial following in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-6:30 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Her family requests donations be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie, Arkansas Children’s Hospital or donor’s choice.
