Bobby Gene Davenport

Bobby Gene Davenport, 85, of Stuttgart passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, at the John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

 Mr. Davenport was born July 25, 1939, in Blackton, Ark., the son of Clarence and Alice Hill Davenport. He was retired from the maintenance department at Riceland. He loved fishing and was president of the Bass Federation. He also enjoyed hunting and was Papaw to all the neighborhood kids, but he especially adored his grandchildren.

 Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Davenport; and sisters, Mary Ann Davenport and Patsy Cooper.

 Survivors are his wife, Betty; son, Gregory Davenport (Brenda) of Cabot; step-son, Porter Cummings of Stuttgart; daughter, Michelle Davenport of Beebe; first wife and mother of his children, Mary Lois Davenport of Beebe; brothers, John Ed Davenport of DeWitt, Frank Davenport of Oklahoma and Danny Davenport of Little Rock; and his three grandchildren, Laiken Kizzire and her mother Kathy, and River Kizzire and Forrest Kizzire and their parents, Richard and Judy Kizzire.

 Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home with graveside service to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery.
