Carl Edward "Sam" Boston

Carl Edward “Sam” Boston was received into the kingdom of God at 7:45 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024.

Sam was born Aug. 16, 1955, to Roy and Ruth Boston in Pine Bluff. He was passionate about everything he did. He loved the Lord and was so honored and proud to be an Elder at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Many Sundays he would get to church early and vacuum the carpet because he wanted God’s house to look its best.

Sam loved his family like none other. He loved working in his yard, the Razorbacks and westerns.

Sam was married to his wife Shirley for 40 years and they enjoyed road trips because they actually visited each other when they were on the road traveling.

Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Boston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Gunnell Boston; two sons, Brandon (Amy) Boston of Ulm and his best friend Brice Boston of Stuttgart; grandchildren, Brayden Boston and the joy of his life, Avery Boston; his siblings, Scotty Boston of Stuttgart and Becky Barnes of Stuttgart who loved their brother with all of their hearts; brother-in-law, Barry Gunnell of Casscoe; and several nieces and nephews and special cousins that will all feel a void with Sam gone.

“Well done good and faithful servant” – Matthew 25:23. Till we meet again…..we love you. Your family.

Visitation is 9 a.m. Saturday, April 13, with a memorial service following at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

His family requests memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 205 E. Fifth St., Stuttgart, Ark. 72160.
