Earnest Mack Smith, 93, of Stuttgart went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He was born on Dec. 20, 1931, to James Otis and Mary Magdaline Crawford Smith on a houseboat on the White River in St. Charles, Ark. He was one of 10 children.
Mack was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a loyal member of Grand Prairie Church led by his friend, Pastor Thomas Bormann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carol; his wife, Alice Jane Smith; and six brothers and sisters, Boyd, Danny, Marshall, Helen, Joyce and Norma Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Smith; two daughters, Margaret (Lewis) Connor of Alexander, Ark., and Kay (Mike) Bosma of DeWitt; one brother, Carl Smith (Paula) of Stuttgart; two sisters, Maxine Oliver of White Hall, Ark., and Bertha Orrick of Humphrey, Ark.; six grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mack was dearly loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Thomas Bormann, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Grand Prairie Church with burial to follow in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. one hour before the service.
