John William Stoevsand

John William Stoevsand, 60, of Stuttgart went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.

John was born December 26, 1963, in Stuttgart to Pearl and Raymond Stoevsand. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Stoevsand; sister-in-law, Kim Suchan; and fathers-in-law, Jake Hasley and Kenneth Stokes.

John was a member of Calvary Baptist Church but was recently attending First Gospel Church. He graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1982 then attended Nashville Auto Body Diesel Mechanic School in Nashville, Tenn., earning a degree in Auto Body Repair. John worked for Lennox Industries for 29 years.

Survivors are his wife of 39½ years, Renea Hasley Stoevsand whom he married Dec. 21, 1984; his son, Jonathan Matthew Stoevsand and wife Cathi and their four daughters, Laila, Isabella, Jakelyn and Addison Stoevsand, all of Foley, Ala.; one bonus grandson, Isaiah Ray of Foley, Ala.; his daughter, Mallory Renea Hill and husband Cody and their two children Bentley and Brynlea Hill of Stuttgart; three special sisters-in-law, Tammy (Jason) Wiles of Carlisle, Terri (Bryan) Smith of Roe and Katie Robertson of Stuttgart; sister-in-law, Mary Stoevsand of Stuttgart; his “mom, mother-in-law, Mary Stokes of Carlisle; brother, Henry (Donna) Stoevsand of DeWitt; sister, Shirley (Wayne) Lott of Dallas, Texas; a very special brother and sister by love, Wayne and Kara Bennett of Hendersonville, Tenn,; a host of nieces and nephews that adorned their Uncle John; and his faithful companion, a chocolate lab, Molly Kate.

John was a loving husband and father and was the best PawPaw ever.

Funeral services, officiated by Jason McKelvey, are 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Turpin Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Turpin Funeral Home.

His family requests memorials be made to National Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
