Joy Elaine Weaver, 62, of Stuttgart passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Joy was born Dec. 19, 1960, the only daughter of Edward and Janie Weaver of Stuttgart. Joy grew up on her family’s farm. She enjoyed horseback riding and competing and competing in horse shows throughout her childhood. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Stuttgart High School. She furthered her education at the University of Arkansas.

After school, Joy became a resident of Maumelle, Ark. She worked as a paralegal for many years where she made lifelong friendships. Joy could always be found with a Mountain Dew in her hand and was a big supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and bravely fought it three times. In her recent years she spent her days showing her love for animals by helping run the family dog boarding business with her mother.

Joy was preceded in death by her father Edward Weaver, uncle Hank Weaver and aunt Patsy Weaver.

She is survived by her loving mother, Janie Weaver; brothers, Edward (Sue) Weaver Jr. of Kennesaw, GA, and Richard Weaver, Steve Weaver (Terri) Weaver and Wink (Carey) Weaver, all of Stuttgart; her sister-cousin, Robin (Butch) Rice of Beebe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Stuttgart.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers over the years and during this difficult time. Much gratitude is extended to Robin Rice, that she always considered a sister, who has been by her side through it all.
