June Olga Felty Sutton peacefully departed this life on the evening of Wednesday, May 29, 2023. June was the daughter of Harry and Ida Felty of Pennsylvania, and was raised in the Dover, Delaware area with her 10 brothers and sisters.
June was preceded in death by her loving and faithful husband of 67 years, Tom “T.C.” Sutton of Casscoe. A retired IBM employee of 30 years, they originally made their home in Georgia ultimately settling in Casscoe where June would oversee Tom’s ambitious ideas. He was blessed to have June, we were all blessed to have her. June made sure her family and any guests were welcomed into her beautiful home. Anyone having the ultimate pleasure of visiting June’s left with a full belly from a five-star home cooked meal.
June and Tom started and oversaw “The Casscoe News”, the local newspaper. They founded and ran the “Home Comfort Lodge” where duck hunters from all over the United States would visit. June also helped Tom build the Casscoe Post Office and The Country Store, just to name a few. They were no strangers to the community, heavily involved and sought after, anything Casscoe.
She is survived by three children, Tommy Sutton of Pine Bluff, Jeffrey Sutton of St. Louis and daughter Sheila Turner (Michael) of Bee Branch; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jason Sutton (Mandy), Josh Sutton, Levi Sutton, Clay Sutton (Grant), Jonathan Sutton (Jacy), Jasper Sutton, Cody Turner (Lauren) and Macy Turner.
