Linda Kay Newkirk Edwards

The sweetest soul chose the most beautiful spring afternoon to catch her first glimpse of Glory. On April 11, 2023, Linda Kay Newkirk Edwards, age 80, passed peacefully from this earth with her children by her side. Heaven is just a little bit sweeter today and we are certain that her faithful, “Big C” was waiting at Heaven’s Gates on his Linnie.

Linda was preceded in death by her father and mother, Alvin and Hattie Carmell Porter Newkirk; her sister, Fanelle Newkirk McGee and her devoted husband of 48 years, Carroll G. Edwards.

She is survived by her children, Tanya L. Donaldson, Phillip C. Edwards and Terri L. Buell; grandchildren, Sarah C. Donaldson Hively and husband, Josh; and Spencer C. Donaldson and wife, Nikki. Her greatest asset and source of joy were her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Kate and Logan Hively. She was also survived by her brother, John A. Newkirk and sisters-in-law, Debbie Beck Newkirk, Clytine F. Edwards and Lillian T. Edwards.

Visitation will be Friday, April 14, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home followed by a private family service at Lone Tree Cemetery.
