Melvin R. Horton Jr.

Melvin R. Horton Jr., 75, of Humphrey passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at DeWitt City Hospital.

Mr. Horton was born Dec. 23, 1947, to Melvin R. and Mary Ann Horton. He received his Bachelor of Science in education degree from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro and was a teacher and coach for over 40 years, the last three years serving DeWitt Public Schools.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Horton.

Survivors are his stepson, Randall Hill of Stuttgart; stepdaughter, Melissa Hill of Stuttgart; and brother, David Horton and wife Sylvia of DeWitt.

A graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at St. Charles Cemetery.
