Roland Curtis

Roland Edwin Curtis, 78, of Stuttgart passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Stuttgart to Edwin Curtis and Anna Siems who preceded him in death. Roland was a true worker of our earth and he was dedicated and faithful to every need of the farm, without exceptions. He was a working man’s worker and never asked any of his employees to do something that he wouldn’t do himself.

When any other farmer was in need, he was willing to help in every aspect, no matter what he had to neglect in his own business. He was a man of few words with a great big heart. He retired from farming in 2006, with his farm carrying a sign of an AR Century Farm. Many people with qualities that he admired helped him achieve this award.

Life blessed him and his family with awards of Outstanding Young Farmer, Farm Family of Northern Arkansas County in 1989, and a supervisory position with Wings Over The Prairie Festival with Bud McCollum, AKA Dink of his Ink, for a number of years.

His retirement included loving sports of all his grandchildren, his love of hunting, especially turkey, family lake trips and watching Razorback sports. He provided everything his children needed and worked hard to help them achieve their goals in life. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, but his legacy will live on.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Terri; three children, Britney Curtis, Christen Moss and Tiffany Kagegein and husband Justin, all of Stuttgart; six grandchildren, Chase Curtis, Jon Cameron Curtis, Callie Curtis, Ashten Moss, Pierce Moss and Hailey Jo Kagebein; his sister, Patricia Thurman and husband Mike; and seven grand dogs.

A memorial service, officiated by Dr. Bryan Fink, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at First United Methodist Church with visitation from 9-10 a.m.

His family requests memorials to the Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie, 912 E. Fourth St., Stuttgart, Ark. 72160, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
