Vance Melton Davis Jr.

Vance Melton Davis Jr., 67, of Humprey went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his home.

Vance was born March 27, 1957, in Memphis, Tenn., to Vance Melton Davis Sr. and Billie Jo Davis.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Lee Davis; and a baby boy .

He was a 1975 graduate of Stuttgart High School and Navy veteran who retired as maintenance foreman of Section F after 32 years of service to Riceland. He loved deer hunting with his sons and brother, and trips to Texas at the lake fishing with his brother at “camp site #25”. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his sons and watching them participate in the derby.

Vance recently accepted the Lord as his Savior.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Tammie Davis; three sons, Kurt (Stacy) Davis of Casscoe, Wesley (Crystal) Davis of Humphrey and Casey (Brooke) of Wabbaseka; brothers, Jim (Dlynn) of Blooming Grove, Texas, and Bob Davis (Sara) of Kileen, Texas; four granddaughters, Skylar, Leann, Alexis and Emily; one grandson, Chance; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery.
