Victoria "Vicki" Martin

Victoria (Vicki) Martin, age 84, gained her heavenly wings on Friday, June 28, 2024. She was born October 4, 1939, in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to Walter and Alice McGhie Carle (who preceded her in death). She wed her longtime love, Carroll Martin, on November 27, 1958.

Vicki loved to love on people – especially by providing food. She was rarely still – cooking for St. John’s school at times, bringing meals and supplies to shut-ins and those grieving the loss of a loved one, helping to prepare and serve dinners to families after funeral services or wedding/baby showers or really any church events, and of course, her famous cinnamon rolls.

She was a devout Christian whose faith never wavered, even when her health declined – and the slow downward trend of her health over the last many years frustrated her that she couldn’t serve her church or fellow Christians.

She is survived by her spouse of 65 years, Carroll Martin; her children Carl Martin and Carol Ann (Jason) Smith; her four beloved grandchildren Nicole and Koty Martin and Connor and Sloane Smith; a close family friend Celia (Matt) McCorkindale; her brother, Walter (Theresa) Carle, Jr.; plus many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us celebrating her life Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart, AR, with visitation with family starting at 9:30 a.m. and a memorial service beginning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clara Kleimann Guild or the Education Fund at St. John’s Lutheran church in Stuttgart, AR, or any charity of your choice.
