William E. “Billy” Rule, age 85, flew away to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
He was born August 25, 1937, in Tyler, Texas to Ernest and Ida (Denton) Rule. He is preceded in death by his son, Greg, his parents, his sister Nancy Rule DeLaPaz, and his brothers Wallace, Phillip, and Steve Rule.
For more than 50 years, Billy ran his own business which he loved, Magnolia Landscape and Tree Service. He specialized in climbing the tallest trees and had many loyal customers in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and surrounding areas. He retired to Northwest Arkansas in 2011 to be near his daughter and grandchildren and was an active member of Rogers Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda Rule of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Tom Rockwood of Rogers, and three grandchildren, Adam, Jack and Kate Rockwood of Rogers. He is also survived by his loving dog, Freckles, and his caregiver, Jancy Mojica, his brothers John Rule of Fayetteville and David (Lola) Rule of Omaha, Nebraska, close friends Steve and Debbie Elliott of Searcy, Arkansas, and John and Susan Cash of Newton, Mississippi.
A visitation will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. Services will be held in Stuttgart, Arkansas at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Turpin Funeral Home with a visitation from 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. A private interment will be held at Lone Tree Cemetery.
